Swanage steam railway seems to get the most votes from our guests.  It is a great way to visit Corfe Castle or you can use it to do a one way walk and get the train back.
However some just love the train for what it is, an authentic and lovingly restored working steam railway.  we are looking forward to the line being extended to Wareham and fully connecting with South West trains

Corfe Castle is probably the most famous image of Purbeck, if not the whole of Dorset.  The village website tells you all about how to make the most of a day at Corfe Castle.

Monkey World is another top class day out.  Monkey World is near Wool, Dorset.  It is an ape rescue centre that allows you to go and see the monkeys and learn about the fantastic work they do.

Bovington Tank Museum is a lot better than you might expect.  They tell a story from the first tanks in the First World War right through to the latest conflict in Afghanistan.  It is mostly indoors, so Bovington Tank Musuem is a slam dunk success when it rains as well.

Durlston Country Park is very close to the Quarterdeck and provides a Visitor Centre, cafe, exhibitions, easy access well managed coastal walks with spectacular cliff views, bird watching and dolphin spotting.


There is currently a huge investment in improving the facilities and this new Durlston Country Park centre should be open in 2011
